A Hi Life Wedding
I recently had the honour of shooting the wedding of Kate Boehms and David Broman. It was a great day, and I am so happy for them both! Click the link below for the photos from the ceremony. Photos from the reception are coming soon!
Hitching for Hope
I recently did a photoshoot for my friend Thomas, who will soon be embarking on an epic journey, hitchhiking his way across Canada. But it’s not just for the experience that he is undertaking this thumb centric trip. Thomas will be organising events along the way to raise money for ovarian cancer. For more details [...]
Avery Day
I recently had the pleasure of shooting the lovely Avery Day, a talented musician and a great friend. Check out the photos by clicking on the link!
This, our city II
Back when I was living in Changhua I would spend my spare afternoons driving around backstreets and getting lost. With my camera in hand I documented the different sides to my new home in This, our city. Now I live in a new city. A bigger, and perhaps, more modern place, but one that also [...]
Pretty Vacant
From December 18th until January 25th Lei Gallery @ Stock 20 will be showing a collection of photos by yours truly a.k.a Girl on a Wire. Come along to the opening night on December 18th from 6pm-9pm and eat, drink and be merry! Come see a forgotten side of Taiwan.
Eastern Promises
We rose early, to beat the sun. But within hours it was cresting the mountains along with us. We wound up, then down the mountain and into the east of Taiwan. The East Coast is a far cry from its Western counterpart. The houses are ramshackle, weathered and worn. If the architecture of the east [...]
Strung Up
The first necklace I ever made came from a keyring I’d had for years. It was a small copper replica of a diver’s helmet and I thought it would look much better around my neck than dangling from my keys. Since then, I’ve always been on the look out for objects that could be potential [...]
Crome Relic
What else to do on a Thursday night but worm my way in to a studio full of rock ‘n’ roll boys. Crome Relic was gracious enough to let me and my camera know what goes on behind the scenes of a Crome Relic rehearsal.
Portraits from the wilderness
On Friday we packed our bags, jumped on our scooters and headed off into the wilderness. Here are a few portraits of the people I camped with in Tai An over the weekend.
Back on this Fair Isle
After three weeks away in Europe there was no denying I was homesick, for Taiwan. Back on Formosa I was reminded why. Within a month I had taken a weekend trip to Kenting, been treated to a work trip to Shao Liou Chao and found another abandoned house up in the hills of Tunghai. No [...]
Through aquatic eyes
I first visited Kaohsiang when my mum visited last year and wished I could have stayed longer. Since its face lift for the 2009 World Games Kaohsiang is a city to visit. This time I returned armed with a fish eye lens and a whole weekend to explore. Here’s what I came away with.
Painted Village
Kyle had heard of a painted village from a workmate so the day after Christmas we headed to the edge of the city and along the way found some old houses and a lone man with a couch, his hand and a magazine. Just your regular Taiwan boxing day!
This, our city
An ode to the streets of my first Taiwan home, Changhua. She may not be the cleanest or prettiest of the bunch but she still managed to capture my eye.
Headin’ North
North of Taipei sits the old gold mining town of Jiufen. A magnet for Taiwanese tourists on the weekend, its streets are nothing but idyllic. However its home to almost every Taiwanese snack known to man, sweeping views down to the ocean and, if you look hard enough, an old, abandoned house.
Music on the breeze
I was privileged enough to be asked to take photos at the The Rising Hedons C.D release party. Band photography is still fairly new to me and a little out of my comfort zone, never the less it was fun to try something new! Check out the photos below along with some photos of the [...]
Postcards from a crowded island
Since July 2008 I have called this island home. From the initial culture shock and sweaty nights this country has wormed its way into my heart. There are so many things I love about Taiwan. Scooter trips out of the city; street side eats; WTF moments, still after eighteen months; and the people. But one [...]
