We rose early, to beat the sun. But within hours it was cresting the mountains along with us. We wound up, then down the mountain and into the east of Taiwan. The East Coast is a far cry from its Western counterpart. The houses are ramshackle, weathered and worn. If the architecture of the east isn’t stunning it is more than made up for with nature’s structures. Miles upon miles of wild, deserted beaches and towering cliffs. We drove down the coast hemmed in on either side by breathtaking scenery. And waiting for us at the end of it all was the hospitality and comfort of Taitung’s Sea Art Hostel, run by the lovely Emily and Roman. Check out my gallery at the link below!
